PLANNING COMMISSION

The objectives of the Harpers Ferry Planning Commission, in its advisory capacity, are to promote the orderly development of the Town; preserve, protect, and foster the rehabilitation of its historic edifices; provide healthy surroundings for family life; to insure that growth of the community is commensurate with its historic significance; and such other objectives, as set forth in West Virginia Code.  The Commission consists of nine appointed members, one of whom must also be a member of the Town Council.  For complete information, refer to Article 133 of the Codified Ordinances of Harpers Ferry.

Regular monthly meetings of the Planning Commission are held at 7:00 p.m. on the Tuesday immediately following the third Monday of each month.  Additional meetings are occasionally required.  All meetings are open to the public and are held upstairs at Town Hall.
